Jannik Sinner, the world’s top-ranked tennis player, is utilizing his three-month suspension from the sport to pursue other interests while maintaining his fitness for his return. The Italian accepted the ban as part of an agreement with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which will keep him off the court until May 4th, forcing him to miss four Masters 1000 tournaments: Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, and Madrid.

Despite this enforced break, Sinner has found ways to keep himself occupied outside of tennis. The 23-year-old has returned to his childhood passion for skiing, enjoying time on the slopes in Sexten, an activity he typically avoids during the competitive season due to the risk of injury. He has also taken up golf, reportedly practicing at the Golf and Country Club in Sudtirol.

Beyond sports, the Italian star made an appearance at Milan Fashion Week last month. Furthermore, his team has developed a comprehensive training regimen to ensure he is in optimal physical condition when he returns to competition in May.

Sinner’s suspension follows a period of controversy stemming from two positive tests for the banned substance clostebol in March 2024. His legal team successfully negotiated with WADA for a reduced punishment, as the agency was reportedly seeking a minimum one-year ban.

Jannik Sinner is anticipated to lose significant ATP ranking points before his suspension ends on May 4th, 2025. This includes 500 points from the Rotterdam Open, which he did not defend, and substantial points from the Miami Open. He will also forfeit points from the Monte Carlo Masters and Madrid Open. Despite these potential losses, Sinner currently maintains a comfortable lead in the ATP rankings with 11,330 points.
