Luke Littler twists the knife after Liverpool lose to PSG in blockbuster Champions League clash
Luke Littler Mocks Liverpool After Champions League Exit to PSG
Luke Littler took to social media to poke fun at Liverpool after the Reds were knocked out of the Champions League by PSG.
Arne Slot’s side had gone into the second leg as favorites following their 1-0 win in Paris last week. However, PSG proved the stronger side on the night, quickly leveling the tie after just 12 minutes through Ousmane Dembélé.
With the aggregate score tied, the match was ultimately decided by a penalty shootout.
Littler Trolls Liverpool Following PSG’s Victory
It was PSG who prevailed, with Gianluigi Donnarumma emerging as the hero by saving spot-kicks from Darwin Núñez and Curtis Jones.
Littler, a passionate Manchester United fan, couldn’t resist mocking Liverpool’s exit. He reposted a tweet from Fabrizio Romano, which featured an image of Dembélé celebrating alongside the caption: “Next round: Paris St-Germain.”
Adding his own twist, the darts star wrote: “They not out… they are out out! UP THE LES PARISIENS.”
Liverpool Look to Bounce Back After European Disappointment
Despite their European heartbreak, Liverpool have a chance to respond quickly. They face Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday and remain heavy favorites to lift the Premier League trophy, currently sitting 15 points ahead of Arsenal.
Slot, while disappointed with the result, expressed pride in his team’s performance.
“It was the best game of football I’ve ever been involved in. An incredible performance, especially compared to last week,” the Dutchman said.
“For the first 20 to 25 minutes, we were all over them, creating chance after chance, and yet we found ourselves 1-0 down. The margins were so small tonight.”
“We played the perfect game except for scoring goals. It was similar to PSG last week—they dominated but didn’t score. Tonight, it was our turn.”
PSG March On to the Quarter-Finals
With their dramatic victory, PSG now await the winner of Aston Villa vs. Club Brugge in the quarter-finals. Unai Emery’s side holds a commanding 3-1 advantage from the first leg, thanks to goals from Leon Bailey and Marco Asensio, along with a Brandon Mechele own goal.
As Liverpool shift focus to domestic silverware, PSG remain in the hunt for European glory, with Dembélé’s brilliance lighting up their latest triumph.
