Nick Kyrgios Reacts as Fans Get Creative to Watch His Miami Open Training

Nick Kyrgios had a lighthearted reaction after fans found unique ways to catch a glimpse of his Miami Open training session. The Aussie, eager to move past his injury struggles, is still searching for his first singles win since returning to competition.

Kyrgios hit the practice courts in Miami on Monday, March 17, drawing eager spectators. However, not all fans had a clear view, leading some to get inventive. In a now-viral moment, one fan knelt down while another stood on their thigh, peering over the tall chain-link fence surrounding the court. The fan on top even managed to snap pictures or record a video of the session.

Kyrgios’ Comeback Journey After Injury Setbacks

After being sidelined for over two years due to a wrist injury, Kyrgios finally returned to the pro tour this season. He underwent multiple surgeries before making his comeback at the Brisbane International, where he won a doubles match alongside Novak Djokovic before the duo bowed out in the second round.

In singles, however, the Aussie is still searching for a breakthrough. He has yet to win a match in three attempts this season, suffering defeats to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in Brisbane and Jacob Fearnley at the Australian Open. Most recently, his campaign at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells was cut short after he was forced to retire mid-match due to a wrist injury flare-up.

Back to Training & A Doubles Invitation for Miami

Despite his disappointment in Indian Wells, Kyrgios wasted no time getting back to work. He shared an Instagram Story showing himself back on the practice courts just days after his withdrawal.

The Aussie also made headlines by extending an open invitation for a doubles partnership at the Miami Open. Initially, he playfully reached out to Novak Djokovic via Instagram, but after receiving no public response, he took his request to X (formerly Twitter), writing:

“Miami dubs anyone? Let’s light the s— up.”

However, when the draw for the Masters 1000 event was released, Kyrgios’ name was missing from the doubles field. In singles, he will face a qualifier in the first round, with a potential second-round clash against 22nd seed Karen Khachanov.
