Luke Humphries Shows His Class with Heartwarming Gesture for Bullied Teen

Darts world number one Luke Humphries has once again proven his class, stepping up to support a young fan who was bullied at school. Humphries is working to arrange a VIP experience for 14-year-old Alex McGarrie, an autistic teenager from Stockport, giving him the chance to meet Premier League darts stars backstage when the tournament arrives in Manchester on April 10.

Shocked by Alex’s story, Humphries has reached out to the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) to explore the possibility of securing tickets and backstage access for the teenager. Among the highlights, Alex could get the chance to meet rising darts sensation Luke Littler and other top-ranked players in what promises to be an unforgettable night.

Humphries took to social media to share his plan, writing:

“I will speak to the PDC this week when we’re in Cardiff and see if we can get him some tickets and a chance to meet all the players in Manchester if that suits? No one likes a bully, hope he’s OK and send him my best wishes [thumbs up emoji].”

A True Role Model

This latest gesture is just another example of why Humphries is regarded as one of the classiest figures in darts. Over the past two Paddy Power PDC World Championship events, he has played a key role in raising more than £2 million for prostate cancer charities, with donations linked to the number of 180s hit.

Currently leading the 2025 Premier League season, Humphries remains focused on securing a spot in the May play-offs, where he could once again face Luke Littler, who has been making waves in the sport.

Littler’s Meteoric Rise

Teenage darts prodigy Luke Littler recently made history by becoming the first player to receive a set of 18-carat gold darts, a prize awarded by BetMGM after his stunning nine-darter in Brighton. That same evening, former world champion Rob Cross matched Littler’s feat with his own nine-dart finish.

Littler currently sits at the top of the Premier League table, having defeated Humphries in Nottingham before falling short in the final against his long-time rival Gerwyn Price. With the competition now heading to Cardiff, another high-stakes showdown between Littler and Price is on the cards, with the Welsh crowd sure to be in full support of their home favorite.

Fans Praise Humphries’ Gesture

Humphries’ kind-hearted gesture has been widely praised by the darts community. One fan summed up the admiration, saying:

“Class act, total respect. That’s exactly how a world No.1 should be: an inspiration.”

Another supporter added:

“You are a fantastic player and a class act, keep it up.”

A third described him as “an absolute gent”, while another echoed similar sentiments:

“One of the classiest guys in darts.”

As the Premier League action continues, Humphries is not only proving himself on the oche but also off it—using his platform to make a real difference in the lives of fans.
