According to CityAM, the Cromlix Hotel, located near Murray’s hometown of Dunblane, Scotland, recorded a £369,045 loss for the financial year ending March 2024. While still a significant hit, it marks progress from the £920,000 loss in the prior year.

Murray purchased the five-star, 15-room estate in 2013 for nearly £2 million. In a bid to boost the business, the couple recently launched Cromlix Gin, created with ingredients sourced from the hotel’s grounds in collaboration with craft distiller Wildfire Gin.

Despite its financial struggles, the hotel remains a prestigious venue, hosting events such as the wedding of Murray’s brother, Jamie Murray, a Grand Slam doubles champion. The 34-acre property includes a private chapel, tennis and pickleball courts, and an award-winning restaurant, with room rates ranging from £350 to £950 per night.

Kim Murray recently opened up about the challenges of managing the hotel:

“We’d finished having children and building our house, so it seemed like the perfect time. Renovating the hotel has given me a new focus beyond motherhood, and I see it as a family project. Maybe in 15 years, our kids will take an interest.”

Andy Murray, meanwhile, is adjusting to life beyond professional tennis after retiring in the summer of 2024, following the Paris Olympics.
