Novak Djokovic’s Heartwarming Gesture to Photographer at Miami Open
Novak Djokovic ended his losing streak with a straight-sets victory over Rinky Hijikata at the Miami Open, winning 6-0, 7-6. The fourth seed had suffered early exits in his previous two tournaments but found his rhythm in Miami.
After the match, Djokovic shared a touching moment with photographer Matt Fitzgerald, who captured his gold medal triumph at the Paris Olympics. Courtside, Djokovic admired Fitzgerald’s photos and insisted he sign one. “This is your work of art,” Djokovic said before the pair posed for a photo together, each holding a signed memento.
With top seeds like Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev eliminated early, Djokovic has a strong chance to go deep in the tournament. Working with Andy Murray, the 37-year-old hopes to maximize his final years on tour.
Reflecting on recent struggles, Djokovic said:
“Andy and I talked about my game, and we agreed that if I keep doing the right things, the results will come. I’m glad I started strong in Miami and hope to keep going.”
