Katie Boulter Chooses Alex De Minaur Over Andy Murray as Ideal Doubles Partner
Katie Boulter made a heartfelt choice when asked to pick her dream doubles partner, selecting her fiancé, Alex De Minaur, over British tennis legend Andy Murray.
The 28-year-old Brit, currently ranked No. 35 in the WTA rankings, has been dating De Minaur since 2020, with the couple announcing their engagement last year. When posed with the decision during a lighthearted interview at the Miami Open, Boulter briefly hesitated before declaring that she “had to choose” De Minaur.
De Minaur, ranked No. 11 on the ATP Tour, has an impressive doubles track record, having won the 2020 Cincinnati Masters with Pablo Carreno Busta. Meanwhile, Murray, a three-time Grand Slam champion, has also found success in doubles, clinching three ATP 500 titles before retiring last year.
Boulter’s Miami Open campaign ended early with a first-round exit to Peyton Stearns, but she remains focused on breaking new ground at Wimbledon this summer. Reflecting on her relationship with De Minaur, she once shared:
“We met through mutual friends and hit it off over an early morning coffee. From that moment, I knew I was in it for the long haul.”
She also praised De Minaur’s kindness, saying, “If I could find someone with half the heart my grandfather had, I’d be the luckiest woman in the world. I’ve found that in Alex.”
De Minaur, in turn, has spoken warmly about Boulter, admiring her positivity and constant smile.
With both players aiming for deep runs in their respective tours, their partnership—both on and off the court—continues to thrive.
