Andy Murray marked his 10th wedding anniversary with a heartfelt message to his wife, Kim, sharing a cozy holiday photo from a recent skiing trip. The retired tennis star has been enjoying some well-deserved downtime since ending his professional career last year.
Posting on Instagram, Murray wrote:
“10 years of marriage, 4 kids and 2 skiing holidays later. Still smiling (albeit through slightly gritted teeth).”
His anniversary tribute comes just days after Novak Djokovic admitted he didn’t know where Murray was during the Monte-Carlo Masters, where Djokovic competed without his new coaching consultant.
“I have no idea [where Murray is], to be honest,” Djokovic said last weekend. “I spoke to him four or five days ago, and he was back home—probably working on his golf swing. This week was never part of the program.”
Murray had previously joined Djokovic during the “Sunshine Double” in Indian Wells and Miami, but opted out of the start of the clay-court season. Djokovic’s younger brother, Marko, stepped in as coach for Monte-Carlo.
Despite the absence, Djokovic confirmed that Murray is expected to rejoin the team at the Madrid Open later this month, with the possibility of continuing through the French Open.
Djokovic, meanwhile, suffered a disappointing start to his clay season, losing his opening match in Monte-Carlo to Alejandro Tabilo 6-3, 6-4. Reflecting on the loss, he said:
“It was horrible. I did not have high expectations, really… But this bad, I didn’t expect.”
The Serb will now regroup before the Madrid Open, which begins April 23, where he’ll receive a bye into the second round.
