“This is not the way I want to win a match,” Alcaraz said. “Thinking about Lorenzo, he’s been through a really tough week—long and intense matches. I just feel sorry for him to end one of the best runs he’s had like this. It’s not easy. Hopefully, it’s nothing serious and he’ll be 100% really soon.”

Reflecting on his own performance, the Spaniard expressed pride in overcoming the challenges he faced throughout the tournament.
“I’m really happy to have won Monte Carlo for the first time. It was a difficult win, with a lot of tough situations. I’m proud of how I dealt with everything—both on and off the court. Coming here and seeing all the hard work pay off makes me really happy,” he added.

Alcaraz also touched on the pressure of fan expectations, especially after a period away from the spotlight.
“It’s been a long time. I just had to be patient and believe this moment would come again. I kept working hard. People aren’t always patient—they expect me to make the final in every tournament. So I’m glad I could give them another final to watch,” he said with a smile.
