Jannik Sinner is gearing up for his return to the ATP Tour, with plans to make his comeback at next month’s Rome Masters 1000. The World No. 1 has taken advantage of his time off to focus on recovery, enhance his fitness, and enjoy some of his other interests.

Despite missing last year’s Rome event due to a hip injury, Sinner is expected to return at full strength and will be the top seed when he steps back onto Italian soil. The 23-year-old has never progressed past the quarterfinals at the Rome Masters, but fans are hopeful for a deeper run this year.

Last year, despite the setback in Rome, Sinner went on to reach the semifinals at Roland Garros, where he pushed Carlos Alcaraz to a grueling five-set battle. That performance confirmed Sinner’s capability on clay—a surface where he continues to evolve and improve. His recent training with renowned fitness coach Marco Panichi could prove vital for the long, grueling matches typical of the French Open.

Training Resumes in Monte Carlo

As of this week, Sinner has resumed full training and is preparing in Monte Carlo. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he’s chosen to hit the practice courts with fellow Italian star Matteo Berrettini.

Berrettini, a former World No. 6, recently reached the quarterfinals in Miami and the round of 16 in Monte Carlo. Though scheduled to compete in Munich this week, he opted to rest in preparation for the upcoming Madrid Open.

The camaraderie between Sinner and Berrettini has only grown over the years, with their bond deepening during Italy’s triumphant Davis Cup campaign in Malaga, where both played pivotal roles.
