Tennis star Coco Gauff has once again swapped her racket for a spatula—but this time, not to cook, but to judge. At the Stuttgart Open, Gauff took on the role of taste-tester in a fun culinary showdown between fellow WTA stars Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula.

In a playful segment shared on Porsche Tennis’s official Instagram, Sabalenka and Pegula competed in a cooking contest at the Siematic Show Kitchen, while Gauff, alongside Eva Lys, sampled the dishes. According to the post:

“Game. Set. Snack. 🎾👩‍🍳 @arynasabalenka wins the flavor point… @jpegula nails the presentation. Taste test by @cocogauff & @eva.lys. Winner? Everyone with a fork.”

Gauff later reposted the moment to her IG stories, celebrating the delicious battle between her peers.

Chef Coco’s Culinary Passion

Gauff’s love for the kitchen is no secret. Back in 2019, she told Hypebeast:

“You need the focus and patience to see through a whole recipe. One mistake can cost you—but if you’re relaxed, you can have fun and add your own twist.”

After moving out of her parents’ house, Gauff revealed in a 2024 interview with The National that she’s been sharpening her culinary skills:

“I’m just trying to learn how to cook more. It’s something I never had to do before. I’ve had some successes—and some failures.”

Among her home-cooked highlights: grilled steak with baked potatoes, and homemade “coco bread.” But not every experiment turns out perfectly—like the banana bread she once attempted for her fitness coach’s birthday that didn’t quite work out.

Back to the Court: Stuttgart Awaits

With her apron off and tennis shoes back on, Gauff now turns her attention to the WTA 500 Stuttgart Open, where she kicks off her clay-court season. She could face either Tatjana Maria or Ella Seidel in her opener and potentially meet Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals. A final clash could pit her against the likes of Iga Swiatek, Jessica Pegula, or Mirra Andreeva.

But while her cooking might be on point, her serve remains under scrutiny. Gauff has tallied 125 double faults in just 18 matches this season—more than any other player on the WTA Tour.

Former pros Andrea Petkovic and Rennae Stubbs recently discussed her ongoing struggles. Stubbs didn’t mince words:

“Her grip is wrong. Her elbow drops, her left arm falls too fast… Bad technique breaks down under pressure, and this could be a long-term issue unless corrected.”

Can Gauff Turn It Around?

Despite her serving woes, Gauff’s potential remains sky-high. With the Stuttgart Open underway, fans are eager to see whether she can whip up the right recipe for success—both in the kitchen and on the court.
