Gerwyn Price has named four rising stars he believes could light up the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship, with the former world champion insisting the next wave of talent is “already knocking loudly on the door.”

Price, who enters this year’s tournament looking to reclaim the Sid Waddell Trophy, says the standard across the sport has never been higher — and that several young players are now genuine threats on the biggest stage.

Price’s Four Future Superstars

According to Price, these are the names fans should keep a very close eye on at Ally Pally:

1. Luke Littler

This one needs no introduction. The defending world champion, world No.1 and global darts phenomenon continues to break records at just 18. Price believes Littler “sets a level nobody his age should be capable of,” and insists he is far from done.

2. Josh Rock

Price praised Rock’s “explosive” style and ability to score heavily under pressure. The 22-year-old Northern Irishman has impressed on major stages and is widely tipped as a future world champion.

3. Gian van Veen

The reigning World Youth Champion has caught Price’s eye with his calm temperament and consistent averages. “Gian is dangerous,” Price said. “He plays like he’s been here ten years already.”

4. Beau Greaves

Price described Greaves as “fearless” and believes she has the potential to cause a major upset at Ally Pally. The teenage sensation has dominated the women’s game and continues to show rapid improvement against top-tier opposition.

Price: “The sport is changing fast”

Price says the strength of the new generation is forcing established players to evolve or be left behind.

“These young players are brilliant. They’re confident, they’re hungry, and they aren’t scared of anyone. The level just keeps rising.”

He added that while experience still matters on the world stage, raw talent is now emerging younger and sharper than ever.

A New Era Incoming?

With Littler already rewriting history, Rock closing in on major success, Van Veen rising rapidly, and Greaves breaking barriers, Price believes the sport is on the cusp of a generational shift.

But he also warned:

“They’re good… but they’ve still got to get past us.”
