Angry Ginge and his Twitch followers were left stunned after world darts champion Luke Littler sent a generous surprise during a recent live stream.
Littler is still celebrating a historic weekend after banking a record-breaking £1 million by successfully defending his World Darts Championship title. The 18-year-old dismantled Gian van Veen 7–1 in the final, producing a sensational 106.02 average — the sixth-highest ever recorded in a PDC world final — and later described the seven-figure prize as “absolutely life-changing”.
In the aftermath of his Ally Pally triumph, Littler opened up about how he plans to enjoy his latest windfall, revealing a growing obsession with football trading cards.
“I’m into football cards at the minute so I might have to treat myself to a few boxes — just a few,” he said. “Panini cards, Topps cards, anything. It’s Angry Ginge’s fault really, he got me into Whatnot.
“You bid and they open a box and then they say you’ve got a Cristiano Ronaldo card. I’ll definitely treat myself to that.”
And it appears Littler was happy to give something back to the man who sparked his new hobby. During Ginge’s latest Twitch stream, Littler surprised the popular creator by gifting 100 subscriptions to the channel.
Ginge — whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle — was clearly delighted by the gesture, breaking into Littler’s iconic walk-on song Greenlight by Pitbull and shouting, “Go on, Luke!” as the chat erupted.
On Twitch, gifted subscriptions support a channel in the same way as regular paid subs, allowing viewers to gift one, three, six or 12 months of access to other users. According to Filmora, 100 Tier 1 gifted subscriptions cost around $499 (£368), while Tier 2 subs double that figure. Tier 3 subscriptions are capped at 40 gifted at a time.
Away from streaming, Littler has also been quizzed about whether he would follow Ginge into the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! jungle — and his answer was emphatic.
“No, I actually wouldn’t. No,” Littler said, via The Mail. “I said I would for the right money, but I’ve been watching it now and there’s no chance.
“Twenty-three hours on a flight to Australia, away from home, eating that stuff — nah. Not good.
“Watching it, I don’t think I could actually do it. Especially the first two trials, and what Aitch had to do. I said to my girlfriend Faith, ‘No, I’m not doing it. Ever. No way.’”
For now, Littler seems far more comfortable enjoying his success, collecting football cards and giving back to those who have supported him — rather than swapping the oche for the jungle.
