Luke Littler has been accused of ignoring advice after his actions during a recent match appeared to anger sections of the darts crowd, with some fans branding the behaviour “classless”.

The teenage world champion found himself at the centre of controversy after being seen reacting visibly to the atmosphere inside the arena, gestures that did not go down well with supporters in attendance.

Littler, who has rapidly become one of the sport’s biggest box-office stars, was previously urged to keep emotions in check amid hostile environments on the Premier League circuit. But those warnings appeared to go unheeded as tensions flared during the match.

Crowd noise increased as the evening wore on, and Littler’s response only seemed to fuel the situation further. Social media quickly lit up afterwards, with several fans criticising the youngster’s conduct and labelling it “disrespectful” and “classless”.

However, others rushed to defend the 19-year-old, arguing that opposition crowds often target Littler precisely because of his status as world champion and the attention he attracts wherever he plays.

Despite the backlash, Littler showed no signs of backing down, continuing to play his natural game and refusing to alter his approach. Those close to the star insist his focus remains firmly on performances rather than outside noise.

With the Premier League season still in its early stages, Littler’s relationship with crowds across the country is likely to remain a major talking point — and one that divides opinion wherever he steps onto the oche.
