DARTS fans spotted Michael Smith bracing himself for the inevitable moments before his painful defeat to Beau Greaves.
Greaves, 22, made history by becoming the first woman to win a PDC title, edging past the 2023 world champion at Players Championship 11 on Monday.
She sealed the victory in dramatic fashion, producing a brilliant 142 checkout to snatch a last-leg decider with Smith waiting on double 10.
‘Bully Boy’ appeared to sense what was coming the moment Greaves buried her first dart into the treble 20.
She still had two more precise targets to hit, but Smith’s reaction said it all — a resigned look that suggested he knew the finish was on.
As Greaves stepped up to complete the combination, Smith could barely watch, turning away as she calmly pinned the winning double.
The clip quickly spread across social media, racking up hundreds of thousands of views on X.
One fan wrote: “Just look at Michael Smith when that first treble went in, absolutely gutted.”
Another added: “He knew it was going in.”
And a third commented: “He was putting his darts away before she even hit the double!”
Despite the disappointment, Smith showed real class in the aftermath, putting his frustration aside to warmly congratulate Greaves on her historic win.
His reaction earned widespread praise from fans.
One wrote: “Unbelievable sportsmanship at the end from him!”
Another said: “Michael Smith is pure class.”
While a third added: “Fair play to Bully — he knew and accepted it, and as always he was gracious in defeat.”
There were big celebrations from “Beau ‘n’ Arrow” after she pinned double 11, with the Doncaster thrower clearly overwhelmed by the moment.
Greaves struggled to hold back the tears during her post-match interview as the significance of her achievement sank in.
She said: “I’ve had a great year, but I never thought I’d win one of these. Never, ever.
“I can’t believe it. I can’t believe I took that out. I am so happy I can’t even describe how I feel.
“I’m beating players that I watched growing up. It is just amazing and I am really proud of myself to win one of these.”
