Fallon Sherrock reveals how she plans to spend £501,000 Netflix prize after beating Luke Littler
Fallon Sherrock has revealed how she intends to spend the £501,000 prize money she won after defeating reigning world champion Luke Littler in a thrilling one-leg showdown on Friday (October 30).
Netflix’s Beat Luke Littler premiered on Friday, with Gary Lineker, Lee Mack, Richard Osman and AngryGinge hosting the show. The competition featured 20 players outside the PDC Tour who were given the opportunity to take on ‘The Nuke’ over a single leg, with a huge £501,000 prize on offer.
Fourteen amateur players stepped up to challenge Littler but failed to get the better of the teenage sensation. Sherrock eventually took her chance and became the first contestant to beat him, adding another remarkable achievement to her career.
The 32-year-old had already made history in December 2019 when she became the first woman to defeat a male opponent at the PDC World Championship.
Sherrock won the bull-off to earn the opening throw, produced a brilliant 180 and then completed the job with a double 20 checkout to secure the life-changing prize. Her victory brought the competition to an immediate end, leaving five remaining amateurs without the opportunity to face Littler.
How does Fallon Sherrock plan to spend her £501,000 prize money?
Speaking to the PDC after her memorable victory, Sherrock explained that her son, Rory, would be her biggest priority when deciding what to do with the money.
The Milton Keynes star admitted that she would likely use a significant portion of her winnings to provide a better home for him.
“I’ll probably end up getting the house that he wants, stuff like that. As long as Rory is alright, that is my main focus for my future,” Sherrock said.
She also opened up about the emotional significance of the victory, particularly because her son was present to witness the special moment.
“It’s insane. I can’t put into words what it means, especially having Rory here. It’s his first time at anything, and he has seen me win.
“It’s a great moment, and I will memorise this forever. Give me an opportunity, and I will take it every time. I’m really proud of myself. I rise to the occasion.”
Speaking further to The Sun, Sherrock admitted that she had been more anxious about securing the public vote to face Littler than actually playing against him.
The former World Championship semi-finalist was selected ahead of Germany’s Jarod Becker, but revealed that she had been desperately trying to win over the audience backstage.
“To be fair, I was more nervous about not getting the vote than I was about facing Littler.
“I’ll be honest: if you’d seen any videos or anything from the back room, you’d have seen me shouting for people!
“It’s not because I want Luke to lose or anything. It’s because this prize money is life-changing. It’s definitely going to change my life.
“I feel like people think I have more money than I do, but I really haven’t.”
Meanwhile, Littler took his defeat in good spirits, congratulating Sherrock on her performance and admitting that he had thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the Netflix project.
The 19-year-old also hinted that he would be open to returning for another edition of the show.
“World class. I’ve enjoyed every bit of it: the ad, the photo shoots, just everything leading up to this. It’s been good. Maybe, Netflix, we can do it again next year,” Littler said.
Why did Fallon Sherrock take a break from professional darts?
Sherrock’s latest success is particularly significant considering the health difficulties she has faced throughout her career.
In 2023, the Englishwoman decided to reduce her involvement in darts to concentrate on her health after revealing that she was battling a kidney-related condition that affected her kidney function. She had first been diagnosed with the illness in 2014.
The condition made it increasingly difficult for her to maintain the demanding practice schedule required to compete at the highest level.
Speaking to Online Darts last year, Sherrock admitted that her health problems had forced her to withdraw from several exhibition events because she struggled with stamina.
“All I want is to practise at home for a couple of hours a day, but I can’t do that at the moment,” she explained.
“So it is difficult. I’ve had to pull out of a few exhibition events recently because I haven’t had the stamina.
“I really wanted to play in the Women’s Week at Modus, and I wasn’t able to play for a whole week.
“So I’ve had to narrow down what I’m playing in now, and that hurts a little bit because I love darts.”
Despite the setbacks, Sherrock remained determined to overcome her difficulties and return to winning ways.
“But fingers crossed, in a couple of years’ time, I’ll be alright and I’ll be back to winning really well.
“I feel like I’m a strong individual, and whatever gets thrown at me, I will overcome it. We’ll see what happens in the next few months, but I’m more determined now to keep fighting.
“I genuinely just want to play darts, enjoy my life and not worry about anything at the moment.”
Sherrock has continued to push forward and has now secured her place at the PDC World Championship this winter after finishing third on the Women’s Series Order of Merit in October.
Her £501,000 Netflix triumph represents another major milestone, providing a potentially life-changing financial boost while giving her son the opportunity to witness one of the proudest moments of her career.
