BEAU GREAVES believes she may have to go all the way and win the World Championship if she is to secure a place in the Premier League.

The Doncaster ace etched her name into the history books by becoming the first female player to claim a PDC ProTour title, narrowly defeating Michael Smith 8-7 in a gripping Players Championship 11 final.

Despite the landmark achievement, the women’s world No.1 insists she is staying grounded and not getting swept up in the moment after her breakthrough success.

She said: “I’ll probably need to win the World Championship to get into the Premier League, but I don’t know — I haven’t really looked that far ahead.

“I never expected to win my first ranking title now, let alone at all, so I’m just going to enjoy this.

“I’ll get back to practising, keep putting in the work, and then we’ll see what happens — if I carry on like this, who knows where I could end up.

“But I’m not going to overthink anything.

“I’ll just keep playing my darts and enjoying my life.”

Greaves has been in superb form on the floor this year and currently sits fourth in the Order of Merit for Players Championship Finals qualification, having already earned £35,250 this season.

The 22-year-old is also embracing her growing status as a pioneer for women in the sport.

She added: “Yeah, in a way.

“I’ve always tried to focus on myself, but it definitely plays a part.

“Obviously Fallon Sherrock had her moment competing with the men and winning matches, and now I’ve come through and I’m trying to do something similar.

“I want to represent young girls coming into the game, and I probably feel more pressure because of that.

“I just want to succeed and give young girls someone to look up to, alongside the other women competing.

“But I don’t feel overwhelmed by it. I just focus on my game and enjoy every tournament I’m part of.”
