LUKE LITTLER broke down in tears after being comforted by Polly James following his dramatic 2026 Premier League Darts triumph.

The 19-year-old edged past rival Luke Humphries 11-10 to win back the title he first lifted in 2024.

After sealing victory, Littler headed for his post-match interview with Sky Sports presenter James but struggled to hold back his emotions almost immediately.

The Nuke became visibly emotional after only a few words and paused to compose himself before returning for a second interview — where he eventually burst into tears.

Before James stepped in to console him, Littler opened up on the difficult journey behind his title success.

He said: “It was a rollercoaster first four weeks, bottom of the table, but then the fifth night I won my first night.

“I had to pick myself up, some tough times.

“I think I had a 79 average in Brighton or something like that and it was tough. But I am here with the trophy.

“After Brighton and the incident in Manchester, I was sat at home saying to Faith [his partner] ‘I don’t want to do it any more, just the crowd every week’. I said to her ‘I’m down bad’.”

Littler has regularly faced hostile crowds throughout the Premier League season.

In Manchester, he was involved in a heated clash with Gian van Veen after making a “cry-baby” gesture during a 6-5 defeat to the Dutchman.

He stormed off stage following a brief handshake, and when Van Veen later branded his actions “out of order”, Littler responded by reposting the comments on Instagram alongside three laughing emojis.

Despite the criticism and pressure, Littler fought his way into the play-offs and produced two sensational performances at the O2.

He survived a thrilling semi-final against Gerwyn Price, winning 10-9, before holding his nerve in another deciding-leg battle against Humphries in the final.

The teenage star also pocketed a huge £410,000 prize following the victory.

Having battled back from 6-3 down, Littler’s comeback was instantly hailed as one of the greatest finals in Premier League Darts history.
