Luke Littler shared an emotional message after receiving his MBE at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.
The teenage darts sensation was presented with the honour by Prince William after being named in last year’s King’s Birthday Honours list for his services to darts.
Known to fans as “The Nuke”, Littler has enjoyed a meteoric rise since bursting onto the scene during the 2023-24 World Darts Championship at just 16 years old.
Playing at Alexandra Palace for the very first time, Littler stunned the darts world by reaching the final before eventually losing to Luke Humphries.
But the young star returned the following year and went one step further, defeating Humphries to become the youngest-ever World Darts Championship winner at just 17 years old.
Littler then successfully defended his crown a year later against Gian van Veen, cementing his place as the dominant force in world darts.
Since arriving on the professional circuit, the two-time world champion has consistently broken records, sold out arenas and attracted a whole new generation of fans to the sport.
His incredible impact on darts made him a clear choice for recognition in King Charles III’s Birthday Honours list last June.
After receiving the prestigious award from Prince William, Littler reflected on his remarkable journey and paid tribute to the people who helped him reach the top.
He wrote: “An amazing day and a proud moment for me and my family.
“Not long ago I was playing in the academy and local pub leagues so to now have an MBE is crazy.
“Wouldn’t be here without all the support of my family, sponsors and all of you fans so thank you, it means a lot.”
The emotional message quickly drew praise from supporters, with many congratulating the teenager for his achievements both on and off the oche.
Following the special ceremony, Littler will now turn his full attention back to the Premier League Darts season as the road to Finals Night enters its final stages.
With only two weeks remaining before the playoffs, Littler has already secured his place at Finals Night at the The O2 Arena on May 28.
The reigning champion will now be aiming to go one better than last year after narrowly missing out on the Premier League title following defeat to Luke Humphries in the final.
