Luke Littler’s pal AngryGinge targeting shock place in Modus Super Series after showing off darts skills
AngryGinge is setting his sights on a potential surprise appearance in the Modus Super Series as he looks to take his darts skills to the next level.
The popular streamer, whose real name is Morgan Burtwhistle, has become increasingly well known within the darts world through his friendship with Luke Littler and his passion for the sport.
The 24-year-old was among the crowd at Alexandra Palace in January, where he watched Littler successfully defend his World Championship title.
Now, AngryGinge believes he could reach the standard required to compete in the weekly amateur competition if he dedicates more time to practising.
He said that Modus Super Series players typically record match averages between 80 and 100, and believes he could potentially reach that level with consistent practice.
Ginge explained that he had recently played seven legs despite not picking up a dart for eight months and still managed an average of 70.
What is the Modus Super Series?
The Modus Super Series features non-PDC Tour Card holders, international competitors and former professionals competing over five days each week.
The matches are played in Portsmouth and broadcast live, giving aspiring players an opportunity to test themselves against experienced opponents.
AngryGinge has already enjoyed some exposure to competitive darts. In December, he joined fellow influencers Pieface and Bambino Becky for Sky Sports’ Walk-On Experience during the World Championship.
He even turned up in his own darts shirt, completing the look with a pair of Lightning McQueen Crocs.
Following the experience, Ginge hinted that he could enter Q-School in the future—not necessarily to win a Tour Card, but simply to experience the pressure of playing at a higher level.
He believes competing under pressure would help him improve mentally, particularly because nerves can have a major impact on a player’s performance.
AngryGinge has already challenged Littler
Ginge regularly plays darts against professional players during his streams and has demonstrated that he can hold his own at times.
He also featured in Inside with the Sidemen, where he showcased his ability on the oche.
Most impressively, he has managed to take individual legs off Littler, despite the huge difference in their competitive experience.
Littler has dominated the sport this year, winning all six major titles he has entered and now chasing an unprecedented clean sweep.
For AngryGinge, however, the goal appears to be much simpler: improve his game, handle the pressure and see just how far his darts ability can take him.
