Netflix Unveils Live Luke Littler Show With £501,000 Prize for Anyone Who Can Beat Him

Fresh off his dominant World Matchplay triumph, Luke Littler is heading from the oche to the streaming screen as Netflix launches a live darts competition offering a life-changing cash prize.

Only hours after crushing Gerwyn Price 18-8 to retain the World Matchplay title in Blackpool, Netflix confirmed the launch of Beat Luke Littler, a live event that will give amateur players the chance to take on the world No. 1 for a staggering £501,000 jackpot.

The one-night special will stream live on October 30, following regional qualifying events in Manchester and London during September. Twenty amateur players will earn the opportunity to face Littler, with each challenger getting a single leg of 501 to try and pull off one of the biggest upsets in darts history.

Littler welcomed the challenge in a promotional message, inviting anyone who believes they have what it takes to step up.

“Everyone thinks they can beat me,” Littler said. “Now they get a chance to prove it. Bring it on.”

Netflix explained the simple but high-stakes format in an official statement.

“The rules are simple: one night, one chance, and one perfect leg of 501.

“If an amateur can defeat darts prodigy Luke Littler, they will walk away with a life-changing £501,000.

“Produced in partnership with the PDC, the governing body behind professional darts, the show will be rooted in the authentic world of competitive darts, bringing the sport’s electric atmosphere live on Netflix.

“To kick off the launch, Netflix has officially opened the nationwide recruitment search to find the 20 competitors brave enough to step up.”

The live event marks another venture into television for the teenage superstar, who previously appeared on the revived Bullseye, hosted by former England cricket captain Freddie Flintoff.

Littler arrives at the show in sensational form after another history-making performance at the World Matchplay.

The 19-year-old broke Phil Taylor’s long-standing 16-year tournament average record with an incredible 111.04 average while also setting a new tournament record with 66 maximum 180s.

He also became the first player in PDC history to surpass £3 million on the Order of Merit.

Despite his remarkable achievements, Littler believes his best darts are still ahead of him.

“I can still get better,” he said. “I can get a lot better.

“Through the matches, I was up to a 120 average at one point and I didn’t make it stick.

“Maybe in a few years’ time I will stick it and go up to a 120 average.”
