Gerwyn Price was forced to halt play and alert security to a heckling fan during Night 15 of the Premier League Darts in Sheffield.
The incident came during Price’s semi-final showdown with Stephen Bunting after whistles from the crowd interrupted the action.
The Bullet had slipped 2-1 behind when both players suddenly stopped mid-visit and turned towards the stands.
World No10 Bunting had just planted a dart in the treble 20 before the noise brought proceedings to a standstill.
Former world champion Price immediately strode to the front of the stage and pointed out the supporter responsible so security could eject them from the arena.
Referee Owen Binks also stepped across the stage to help identify the troublemaker.
Wayne Mardle criticised the fan live on Sky Sports.
He said: “It’s a shame when people think they can pay good money and ruin everyone else enjoying it.
“Sorry about this unforeseen interlude.
“The said person we think has been ejected.”
Bunting responded brilliantly after the disruption, reeling off four consecutive legs to complete a 6-3 comeback win.
The St Helens ace wrapped up victory in style with a superb 104 checkout.
Earlier in the evening, Bunting averaged 102.22 in an impressive 6-3 win over Jonny Clayton in the quarter-finals.
He later went on to win the night and climb to fifth in the league table.
Elsewhere, Price was deadly on the doubles, taking out six of his eight attempts before sealing a 6-2 victory over Gian van Veen with a brilliant 112 finish in their opener.
Luke Littler edged past Josh Rock 6-5 in a tense affair, with Rock punished for missing doubles after landing just five of his 23 attempts at the outer ring.
Meanwhile, Luke Humphries averaged a stunning 105.24 to beat Michael van Gerwen 6-5 in the quarter-finals.
