Jessica Pegula to Aryna Sabalenka: “It seemed like I was playing against Serena with how you served today”

The trophy presentation ceremony of the WTA Cincinnati had several interesting moments, like the one Jessica Pegula starred in her gratitude speech. Aryna Sabalenka managed to secure the title, but the American remembered a funny moment she experienced yesterday after winning the semifinal. During her post-match interview, the interviewer Andrew Krasny asked her about Aryna, but she understood ‘Serena’. “I want to congratulate Aryna. Andrew said ‘Aryna’ and I thought he said ‘Serena’. But it felt like today was Serena with the way you were serving today. I don’t know, maybe I would have wanted Serena for how you’ve been acing,” Pegula said with a laugh.
