How to watch Man City vs Ipswich – TV channel, live stream details, kick off time
Manchester City news as Pep Guardiola’s side return to the Etihad Stadium for their second Premier League match of the season
In the same month that Manchester City won the Champions League for the first time in their history, Kieran McKenna and Ipswich Town were sealing their promotion from League One. The two sides will now come face-to-face in the Premier League.
City enter the game once again on a long winning run that stretches back to April in the league. They were victorious against Chelsea on the opening day of the 2024/25 campaign thanks to goals from Erling Haaland and Mateo Kovacic.
Meanwhile, Ipswich were also handed a tricky task as they welcomed Arne Slot’s Liverpool to Portman Road. After a resilient first half, the Tractor Boys were outdone for quality and went down 2-0.
In terms of the contrast between the two teams this weekend, there could hardly be a bigger one. City are one of the wealthiest and richest clubs in world football whilst Ipswich used seven starters who had been with them in the third tier.
Pep Guardiola will already know not to take the challenge lightly, even though the two favourites to finish top and bottom of the Premier League are coming up against each other. For Ipswich they are looking to record their first points in the top flight for over 20 years.
In the meantime City have won the title themselves seven times and have been crowned champions of Europe as well as domestic cup dominators. Here, MEN Sport takes you through how to watch the game.
