Man City star Jack Grealish has taken to social media to deliver an incredible message to Liverpool rival Curtis Jones after his brilliant England debut.

Grealish, 29, was one of nine players who decided to withdraw from the England squad ahead of their UEFA Nations League games against Greece and the Republic of Ireland, drawing the ire of captain Harry Kane.

Jones, 23, was one of five players drafted in to replace the injured stars and grasped the opportunity with both hands, scoring a cheeky backheel to round off the goals in their 3-0 win over Greece.

Newcastle defender Lewis Hall and Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers also made their debuts as England avenged their surprise loss to Greece in the previous fixture.

Grealish has missed City’s last five games after picking up a knock ahead of their 5-0 Champions League win over Sparta Prague earlier in the season.

Jones on the other hand is starting to establish himself as one of Liverpool’s undroppables under Arne Slot, starting in six of their last seven games across all competitions.

Clearly impressed by his England debut, Grealish took to Instagram to send a message to Jones and congratulate him on his wonderful strike.

Jones has every right to believe he should start in England’s next game against the Republic of Ireland on Sunday (November 17) after that performance.
