Over the course of his career, Djokovic hasn’t been on the sidelines for long. The current spell away from the court is one of his longest periods on the sidelines. As a result, Djokovic is missing tennis dearly and had to show his fans how much tennis means to him.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion took to his official TikTok handle and shared a hilarious video with a tennis ball. In the video, Djokovic could be seen chasing a tennis ball tied to a rope while he crawled with the support of his hands. With Djokovic’s focus completely on the tennis ball, he chased it till the very end but wasn’t able to grab it. The video went viral as soon as it was shared and garnered several reactions from the fans, who are in turn missing their hero.
Ahead of the ATP Finals, Djokovic had qualified for the tournament and fans were hoping to see him in Turin. However, persistent knee problems once again cropped up and he had to withdraw from the tournament. “It’s quite an honor to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin. I was really looking forward to being there, but due to ongoing injury I won’t be playing next week. Apologies to those who were planning to see me. Wishing all the players a great tournament. See you soon,” Djokovic said.
Djokovic is hoping to make a comeback early next year. With Australian Open plans on his mind, Djokovic’s rival, Carlos Alcaraz, made a huge revelation about Djokovic’s comeback next season.

The Serb played some of the most memorable encounters against Alcaraz this season. Among them was the Paris Olympics final, which Djokovic won to clinch the gold medal. While Djokovic has been away from the sport for quite some time now, Alcaraz feels that he can make a strong comeback.
The Spaniard revealed, “A really dangerous player. We’ve seen before that it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t play an official match for two, three, four months because he’s going to come again and be able to win the tournament, be able to show a really high level of tennis. If he goes to Australia hungry, he’s going to be one of the favorites to win Australia.”
Djokovic last played at the Shanghai Masters where he lost in the summit clash against Jannik Sinner. With no Grand Slam titles won this year, Djokovic would be eager to add at least another major title to make it a silver jubilee of Grand Slam victories.
