Emma Raducanu Deletes Instagram Account Days After Stalker Scare

Emma Raducanu has made a surprising move on Instagram, deleting her account just days after a terrifying stalker incident that left her shaken for months.

The ordeal, which had been ongoing for three months, only gained widespread media attention during the Dubai Tennis Championships in mid-February. Raducanu’s distress reached a breaking point during her Round of 32 match against Karolina Muchova, where she spotted the stalker in the crowd.

Visibly panicked, she approached the umpire, hid behind her chair, and broke down in tears before security swiftly intervened and removed the man.

In the aftermath of the incident, Raducanu has taken steps to limit her social media presence. As of March 13, she has deleted her Instagram account, which previously had over 3 million followers. It remains unclear whether this decision was directly linked to the stalking incident.

Despite the unsettling experience, the former US Open champion pushed forward and traveled to Indian Wells for the WTA 1000 event, this time with extra security measures in place. However, her tournament run was short-lived as she suffered a first-round exit against Moyuka Uchijima.
