Naomi Osaka’s coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, shared an inspiring message following her hard-fought victory at the 2025 Miami Open. The former World No. 1 survived a tense battle, showcasing resilience and determination as she continues her comeback on the WTA Tour.
“What a fight! This is what tennis is all about. Going through ups and downs, digging deep when it gets tough, accepting one’s emotions, and problem-solving. Could not be prouder of your effort today,” Mouratoglou wrote.
Despite a challenging start to 2025, Osaka is beginning to rediscover her best form. Reflecting on her recent performances, she acknowledged the importance of grinding out tough matches to reach the pinnacle of the sport.
“This year, I’ve already played a couple of scrappy matches,” Osaka said. “I think the fight got me through. Then I realized—you need to play a lot of matches like that to become one of the greats. I’m hoping I can continue.”
Now advancing deeper into the Miami Open, Osaka remains focused on building momentum and returning to the top of women’s tennis.
