Jessica Pegula fell short in the Miami Open final once again, losing to Aryna Sabalenka for the third time. Despite the disappointment, Pegula maintained her humor during the trophy presentation.
“Congrats, Aryna, to you and your team. Three finals… I really don’t wanna like you right now, but you’re the best player in the world for a reason. You keep pushing and challenging everyone to get better. Congrats on an amazing couple of weeks here and a great tournament at Indian Wells too. The last month of tennis you’ve played has been amazing,” Pegula said.
Pegula Expresses Gratitude to Her Team and Family
Pegula also took a moment to thank her support team and loved ones for their unwavering encouragement.
“Thank you to my team in the box—my family, coach Mark, my hitting partner Spencer, my physio Sarah, and trainer John. And to my husband, brother, and sister at home. Having so many friends and family here in South Florida made it special to play in front of them. I truly appreciate you all,” she added.
