Luke Littler has fired back with a cheeky but sensible response after fellow darts star Nathan Aspinall jokingly called him a “lightweight” when it comes to drinking.

Now 18, Littler has begun joining other players at the hotel bar during tournaments, trading PlayStation nights for a few drinks and card games. Aspinall recently told talkSPORT:

“He’s coming out of his shell now. He used to head back to his room after matches, but now he’s down at the bar with the lads. He’ll have a couple of Dark Fruits – four pints and he’s done!”

But Littler had the perfect reply when speaking to Hawksbee & Jacobs:

“I wouldn’t say I’m a lightweight. I just don’t want to wake up Friday morning feeling rough before going home or heading to a competition.”

The teenage darts sensation is relishing his time on the road, saying he’s embracing the opportunity to explore the cities he visits:

“It’s about not locking myself away—getting out and seeing where we go in the Premier League or European Tour.”

Since turning 18 in January—just weeks after becoming the youngest world champion in PDC history—Littler has been on fire. He’s added the UK Open to his growing list of titles, successfully defended the Belgian Darts Open, and leads the 2025 Premier League standings with four nightly wins in nine weeks.

Next up, he’ll face Gerwyn Price in Manchester on Thursday, having taken the weekend off from European Tour duties. Meanwhile, Aspinall reached the final in Riesa, Germany, where he was defeated by Stephen Bunting.
