GLEN DURRANT was left rosy-faced after an awkward question from Emma Paton.

The darts veteran had tipped Michael van Gerwen earlier in the week, but his prediction fell flat when Jonny Clayton sent the Dutchman crashing out in the quarter-finals.

Speaking to Durrant after the Welshman’s win, Sky Sports presenter Emma Paton put him on the spot with a cheeky remark, saying: “Your tip is out… so you can pick another one.”

The comment led to an awkward but humorous moment on air, clearly catching Durrant slightly off guard.

Later, the 2020 Premier League champion took to X to joke about the exchange, writing: “I’m a happily married man.”

Fans were quick to react to the moment online. One commented: “Fair play holding it together there. The ultimate professional.”

Another added: “The question being asked with such a straight face as well.”

On the oche, Clayton — nicknamed “The Ferret” — was in inspired form. He comfortably dispatched Van Gerwen 6-2 before going on to defeat Josh Rock in a gritty and hard-fought semi-final clash.

But that wasn’t the only moment of light humour during the night.

Van Gerwen had taken the lead after the opening leg, but the commentators playfully teased Clayton for celebrating a 140 score early in the match.

They joked: “That’s a bit early from Jonny.”

To which the co-commentator laughed and added a tongue-in-cheek remark about experience and timing, drawing chuckles from viewers.

However, there was nothing premature about Clayton’s performance.

He continued to build momentum throughout the night and carried that form into the final, where he faced Luke Littler.

Clayton produced another composed display to secure a 6-4 victory over Littler and claim yet another nightly win.

Night 11 in Rotterdam marked Clayton’s fourth nightly win of his 2026 Premier League campaign.

It also made it back-to-back victories for the Welshman following his success in Brighton, having already picked up wins earlier in Glasgow and Nottingham.

The Welsh ace now looks to have one foot firmly in Finals Night at the O2 in May, with a five-point gap opening up at the top of the Premier League table — underlining just how consistent and dominant he has been throughout this year’s competition.
