Beau Greaves reveals humble way she celebrated historic Players Championship win as fans declare ‘love the low-key vibe’
Beau Greaves revealed she turned down the chance to celebrate in the pub after her historic Players Championship victory — instead opting for a quiet night with pizza.
The 22-year-old from Doncaster became the first woman to claim a PDC ranking title after edging a dramatic 8-7 win over Michael Smith earlier this week.
Following the remarkable achievement, pundit Laura Turner praised Greaves, describing her as an “absolute diamond.”
Despite the magnitude of her success, the three-time WDF world champion chose not to indulge in extravagant celebrations after her record-breaking triumph.
Greaves, who impressed with a stunning 142 checkout to defeat Smith, told Sky Sports: “I did get asked to go to the pub, but I said no.
“To be honest, I went back to the hotel, had a slice of pizza, had a hot chocolate and went straight to bed.
“I was around my family and that was good enough for me.”
Darts fans quickly took to social media to applaud her down-to-earth approach.
One wrote: “Love the low-key vibe from Beau Greaves. Wins big and still keeps it simple.”
Another commented: “Beau is a real gem and we all adore her. She is the pride of Doncaster.”
A third added: “She is such a nice, well-mannered and grounded person. I love watching her play.”
A fourth said: “Elite mentality. Most people would’ve been halfway through their third pint by now.”
However, one fan suggested Greaves could have celebrated in a bigger way, saying: “Beau is being too humble!
“It might be decades before this is achieved again. She should have shut the pub down and led a parade through the streets.”
Greaves was speaking after her incredible 114-match winning streak in the PDC Women’s Series came to an end last month.
