The darts sensation, who has been dating Millar since last year, admitted he would love to step into the ring for a one-off fight at a Misfits Boxing event — but says his partner is firmly against the idea.
Millar has regularly supported Littler at tournaments throughout his rapid rise in darts, though it seems she is less enthusiastic about seeing the back-to-back world champion swap the oche for boxing gloves.
The world No.1 was ringside in Manchester for Daniel Dubois’s thrilling heavyweight showdown with Fabio Wardley, which Dubois won in the 11th round after surviving an early scare.
Speaking to The Sun about the possibility of fighting himself, Littler said: “I’d love to, but the missus does not want me to. I’d love to. A one-off definitely, on Misfits.”
A huge boxing fan, Littler was full of praise for the dramatic Dubois vs Wardley clash.
He said: “That’s one of the best heavyweight fights you will ever see. It was unbelievable. The first knockdown, in the first round, happened so fast that I didn’t even see it, I was talking to Moses [Itauma]!”
Littler has often spoken about his love of boxing and previously revealed his dad played a major role in getting him hooked on the sport.
Speaking last year, he said: “What I do, when I’m bored at night, I just go through old boxing fights and stuff like that.”
He also paid tribute to late boxing legend Ricky Hatton, recalling stories he had heard from fellow darts stars.
Littler said: “My dad was talking about it. The fight against Pacquiao and Mayweather where he’s winning it and the ref was splitting it up.
“Even when we found out, I think Chris Dobey and Ross Smith both said he was a proper lad.
“I think they said he was at the World Matchplay for years and years on the run, but I never got the chance to meet him. It is sad. His fights have been on Instagram, Facebook — everything’s just full of Ricky. It is sad.”
After his night out in Manchester, Littler will return to Premier League action on Thursday for Night 15. The teenage star has already secured his playoff place and currently sits top of the table after winning three consecutive nightly titles.
