Leeds’ impressive win over Manchester United on Monday night didn’t just shake things up in football — it also sparked bragging rights on the oche between Luke Littler and Luke Humphries.

Littler, a passionate United supporter, quickly found himself on the receiving end of some playful banter from rival Humphries after Leeds pulled off a memorable result at Old Trafford.

Leeds flew out of the blocks, with Noah Okafor scoring twice in the first half to give the visitors a 2-0 lead at the break. It was a stunning turnaround for a side that had struggled away from home all season in the Premier League.

Things went from bad to worse for United when Lisandro Martínez was sent off for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hair, handing Leeds an even bigger advantage. Although Casemiro pulled one back with a header and goalkeeper Karl Darlow was forced into a series of saves, Leeds held firm to secure a famous win.

It marked their first league victory at Old Trafford since 1981 — ending an 18-match wait — and lifted them six points clear of the relegation zone. It was a huge moment for manager Daniel Farke and his players, while fans relished the rare chance to celebrate against their United-supporting rivals.

Among those enjoying the moment was Humphries, the darts world No.2, who wasted no time taking to social media to tease Littler and fellow United fan Angry Ginge.

“How we feeling lads?? Hahahahahahaha,” he posted — though neither responded. Humphries later added a more measured reply to another fan, suggesting United would still be fine and likely secure Champions League football.

While Humphries is the defending champion in darts’ Premier League, his current campaign hasn’t gone to plan, with the Englishman sitting seventh in the table. Littler, meanwhile, is second, just three points behind leader Jonny Clayton heading into Night 11 in Rotterdam.

Off the oche, Humphries has even more reason to celebrate Leeds’ form. The win over United followed their impressive run to the FA Cup semi-finals, where they are set to face Chelsea after a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over West Ham United.

Leeds currently sit 15th in the table, six points above Tottenham Hotspur in 18th, with six games remaining. They now prepare to host bottom side Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Farke urging his players to maintain momentum.

The Leeds boss stressed the importance of belief and consistency, insisting his side must continue to deliver under pressure while staying grounded, with nothing achieved yet in their fight for survival.
