Earlier this week, the golfing world learned that Phil Mickelson wouldn’t be competing at the Masters.
Mickelson made some very controversial remarks about Saudi Arabia amid rumors that he would be joining a new golf league. After those remarks became public, Mickelson lost a plethora of sponsors and now won’t compete in the year’s first major.
Not everyone was upset with the news. Golf analyst Paige Spiranac had someone else on her mind: Tiger Woods. “Who cares about Phil. I need to know if Tiger is playing the masters,” she said on Twitter earlier this week.
That prompted one fan to ask Spiranac if she would be hitting the ceremonial tee shot at the Masters in April. She gave a two-word answer along with a photo that quickly went viral.
“I’m ready,” she said while wearing a green jacket and skirt.
There’s a reason Spiranac has the most followers of any golf-related personality in the sport. She knows how to create viral content and this is just another example.
She’s not the only one hoping Tiger makes a comeback for the Masters, though. Woods only has a few weeks left to make the trip to Augusta and try for another green jacket.
