Adorable: Alexander Zverev’s playful handshake with his girlfriend before stepping on the court

Alexander Zverev, currently in action at the Australian Open, shared a heartwarming moment with his girlfriend Sofia Thomalla, which was later shared on her Instagram.

Ahead of his quarterfinal match against Tommy Paul, Zverev and Thomalla were captured having a sweet interaction backstage. Sofia was there to offer her support and encouragement as Zverev prepared for the big match.

The couple shared a special pre-match ritual, complete with a playful clap, handshake, and kiss.

“I have a special handshake with my physiotherapist, my fitness coach, my best friend Marcelo Melo, my brother Mischa, and now with Sofia. Of course, Sofia’s is the sweetest one—no question about it,” Zverev shared.

It seems the good luck worked, as Zverev triumphed over Paul in four sets, securing his spot in the Australian Open semifinals. The German star will now face the winner of the match between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.
