Katie Boulter’s fiance Alex de Minaur looks ripped as he shows off stunning body transformation
Alex de Minaur’s On-Court Transformation and Off-Court Happiness
Things are looking bright for Alex de Minaur, both on and off the court. Fresh off his engagement to British No.1 Katie Boulter, the Australian tennis star is turning heads with his new, muscular physique.
A Physical Transformation Paying Off
Determined to elevate his game, De Minaur has undergone a significant body transformation, packing on muscle to improve his strength, speed, and endurance. His hard work has been evident, most notably at last month’s Australian Open, where his ripped physique caught the attention of fans and commentators alike.
At just 25 years old, De Minaur has been focused on increasing muscle mass—an area he had previously pinpointed as crucial for his development. Over the past three years, he has added seven kilograms of muscle, a change that has had a noticeable impact on his performance.
“Each year is different. You look at what you want to improve. This year, we’re trying to bulk up, put on more muscle for strength and speed on my serve and groundstrokes,” he explained.
De Minaur’s intense pre-season training regimen saw him spending up to three hours in the gym, followed by two hours on the court each day.
“At the start of pre-season, you train to the point where you don’t even want to wake up in the morning because you know what’s ahead of you.”
Stronger, Faster, and More Powerful
His physical gains have translated into stronger serves, with statistics proving the impact of his new approach.
- 2018 Australian Open:
- First serve speed: 167 km/h
- Second serve speed: 147 km/h
- 2024 United Cup:
- First serve speed: 204 km/h
- Second serve speed: 167 km/h
This added strength has also helped De Minaur hold his own against more powerful opponents.
“Physically, I’ve gained a lot of muscle, a lot of strength. In the past, when I was lighter, bigger guys could push me around. Now, I can maintain a strong rally ball to hurt my opponents rather than get bullied on the court.”
A Strong Partnership with Katie Boulter
Off the court, De Minaur’s personal life is also flourishing. He and Katie Boulter have been together for nearly five years and recently announced their engagement in December, sharing the news with fans on Instagram:
“We’ve been keeping a small secret.”
Balancing the demands of professional tennis can be challenging, but De Minaur credits Boulter for helping him relax and enjoy life on the road.
“Being with Katie makes the time away from home much easier. We travel so much, so we try to enjoy each city, go for dinners, have coffees, and make life as normal as possible.”
As De Minaur continues his ascent in the tennis world, both his physical evolution and strong support system appear to be setting him up for greater success in the years ahead.
