Alexander Zverev is making the most of his time in Buenos Aires, embracing both Argentine culture and soccer ahead of his first match at the Argentina Open against Dušan Lajović.
The world No. 2 took a break from training to attend a Boca Juniors match at La Bombonera, one of the most iconic stadiums in world football. Clearly impressed by the experience, Zverev took to social media to express his admiration.
“Soccer in Argentina is on another level. I had never before experienced such an atmosphere,” he wrote, sharing photos from the stadium.

Zverev’s visit to La Bombonera quickly caught the attention of ATP Tour en Español, who shared the moment with the caption:
“A new Boca fan has been born 😏”
Another post jokingly claimed:
“He turned out to be more Argentine than yerba mate and the ‘Scaloneta’ 😂”
With Argentina’s rich tennis history, Zverev is in a country that has long celebrated the sport. Whether or not he lifts the Argentina Open trophy, it’s clear that he has fully embraced the local culture—and perhaps even found a new football club to support.
