Reasons why Jannik Sinner’s girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya spends Valentine’s Day away from him, with Daria Kasatkina & others in Dubai
Jannik Sinner‘s girlfriend, Anna Kalinskaya, spent her Valentine’s Day with fellow Russian player Daria Kasatkina and Australian tennis player Arina Rodionova. Kalinskaya, who recently faced a first-round exit at the Qatar Open after losing to Cristina Bucsa, shifted her focus to her friends on this special day.
Kalinskaya and Sinner’s relationship became public in May 2024, although the World No. 1 had previously mentioned that he preferred to keep his relationship private. Their connection gained attention, especially at the 2024 US Open, where Kalinskaya supported Sinner from the stands during his final match against Taylor Fritz. After Sinner’s victory, the couple shared a sweet kiss in celebration.
Months later, Sinner claimed another triumph at the 2025 Australian Open, defeating Alexander Zverev in straight sets. Following the win, he revealed that his body needed rest and therefore decided to pull out of the Rotterdam Open.
Meanwhile, Kalinskaya moved on from her Australian Open defeat and participated in the Singapore Tennis Open, though she gave a walkover in the semifinals.
For Valentine’s Day, Kalinskaya focused on her friendship with Kasatkina and Rodionova. Rodionova shared a story on Instagram showing the trio celebrating together, captioning it: “Celebrating Vday with these guys and (as per usual) stolen flowers,” while Kalinskaya added some dancing emojis to the post.
Kalinskaya and Kasatkina also shared a humorous moment at the WTA 500 in Berlin in 2024, when Kasatkina playfully teased Kalinskaya about her preference for carrot cake—a nod to an amusing incident involving Sinner, who was spotted eating carrots during a changeover at the Erste Open in 2019. This moment sparked the creation of the ‘Carota Boys’ fan club.
In a 2024 Vanity Fair interview, Sinner reflected on the challenges of balancing his busy tennis schedule with his relationship. He admitted that traveling frequently and staying focused on tournaments wasn’t easy but emphasized that finding the “right love” made it all worthwhile. “The best tennis players in the world all have wives and children,” he said.
In recent news, Sinner received a three-month suspension from tennis due to his involvement in a doping controversy, but this will not impact his participation in the upcoming French Open.
