Jack Grealish has heaped praise on a Liverpool star who has taken his game to another level in recent seasons. As the summer approaches, new manager Arne Slot will have one major priority: ensuring that Mohamed Salah remains at Anfield.

Liverpool has outscored every other Premier League team by at least eight goals this season, but strengthening the attack should still be on Slot’s summer to-do list. A new number nine is likely to be a key target.

Salah’s Evolution as a Playmaker

Before any new arrivals, however, Liverpool must first secure Salah’s future. The Egyptian forward, whose contract expires in a few months, scored his 28th goal of the season over the weekend. But as Jack Grealish highlighted, Salah is now far more than just a goal scorer.

“Salah’s playmaking over the last couple of years is incredible,” Grealish told Bleacher Report. “I’m not saying he couldn’t do it before, but back then, he was more direct, always scoring. Now, he gets so many assists.”

With 19 assists this season, Salah has become a complete attacking force, balancing goal-scoring with elite playmaking.

Will Salah Sign a New Deal?

Alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Salah’s future remains uncertain. Replacing him would be a costly and risky move, making a contract extension the obvious solution.

His agent, Ramy Abbas, recently praised Arne Slot on social media, calling him “excellent at his job.” This could offer Liverpool fans a glimmer of hope that an agreement might be reached.

Last month, Salah confirmed that he is fully committed to finishing the season strongly, but admitted there had been “no progress” in contract talks. Slot has repeatedly expressed his desire to keep Liverpool’s talisman, and negotiations are expected to ramp up soon.

Liverpool Must Keep Salah

Liverpool.com states: Losing Salah is simply not an option. As Grealish pointed out, his game has evolved beyond just scoring. Unlike Cristiano Ronaldo in his later years, Salah continues to work tirelessly and remains essential to Liverpool’s overall system. His pace may have dipped slightly, but his output remains as strong as ever—making him irreplaceable at Anfield.
