Cameron Menzies had the UK Open Darts Championship crowd in hysterics after jokingly pretending to punch the table again.

The darts star previously made headlines after reacting in frustration during the PDC World Darts Championship.

Menzies, 36, lost his cool after being beaten by tournament debutant Charlie Manby in December.

The Scottish thrower took out his frustration on a table at the side of the stage as he repeatedly struck the top of it.

He later walked off stage clearly uncomfortable and later admitted the reaction had been a big mistake.

Now, however, Menzies can look back on the moment with humour after making fun of it during his appearance at the UK Open.

During the mid-session interval of his clash against fellow Scot Peter Wright, Menzies was practising his throw on stage.

He landed two darts in the treble 20 and stepped forward to retrieve them as the crowd cheered.

After sharing a bit of banter with the fans, he jokingly pretended to warm up a punch at the table beside him.

The crowd clearly saw the funny side, with laughter heard around the arena.

The moment was later shared on social media, where fans were pleased to see Menzies in good spirits about the situation.

One supporter posted: “Class to see Menzies laughing again.”

Another commented: “Menzies back being the clown.”

A third fan wrote: “Thought he was going for it again haha.”

Despite the light-hearted moment, Menzies was unable to progress in the tournament.

He went on to lose the last-64 clash to Wright, crashing out of the UK Open as the former world champion claimed a 10-6 victory.

Wright, who previously won the event in 2017, now moves into the last 32 where he has been drawn to face Dutch star Danny Noppert.
