Krzysztof Ratajski “in shock” after accusations from Danny Noppert: “I didn’t feel I did anything wrong”

Krzysztof Ratajski delivered an impressive run last weekend at the European Darts Grand Prix, reaching the semi-finals. In the quarter-finals, he defeated Danny Noppert, but the spotlight quickly shifted away from the result.

During the match, Noppert — also known as “The Freeze” — appeared to accuse the Pole of loudly clicking his darts. Despite climbing back to world number 10 in the latest PDC Order of Merit, the Dutchman looked visibly frustrated on stage throughout the contest.

His body language told the story. Noppert took extra time between throws, glanced around repeatedly, and seemed clearly irritated by Ratajski’s movements while holding his darts. As the match neared its conclusion, his frustration became even more apparent.

After the match, Ratajski — “The Polish Eagle” — admitted in his on-stage interview that he was caught off guard by the allegation. He maintained he was unaware of doing anything wrong, saying he hadn’t noticed any issue during the game.

The unexpected situation appeared to affect his focus. Ratajski acknowledged it disrupted his rhythm, as he momentarily struggled to process what was happening, missing three darts at a double during that spell.

Despite the tension, Ratajski showed resilience. He fought back from 5-4 down, survived a match dart from Noppert, and edged a dramatic 6-5 victory in a tense deciding leg. After the final dart, the pair exchanged words once more before eventually sharing a brief handshake — a small but meaningful sign of respect after a heated encounter.

Ratajski carried his momentum into the semi-finals, marking his second consecutive deep run on the European Tour. However, his campaign ended there. A difficult start saw him miss ten darts at a double across the opening three legs, falling 3-0 behind. He was unable to recover from that early deficit and eventually lost 7-5.
