‘We are here to take titles’ – Luke Littler singles out three young darts rivals ready to take over the sport
Luke Littler has declared that “the young ones are here to play” while throwing his support behind Beau Greaves for a future spot in the Premier League Darts.
The teenage sensation, already a double world champion, praised his fellow rising star after her historic achievement last week.
Greaves, 22, became the first woman to win a PDC ranking event by claiming Players Championship 11 in Milton Keynes. On her way to the title, she defeated former world champions Rob Cross, Gary Anderson and Michael Smith, sealing victory with a शानदार 142 finish.
Littler, 19, shares a sponsorship with Greaves through Target and believes she is capable of making even more history by becoming the first woman to secure a permanent place in the Premier League by 2027.
“The last few years of what Beau has been doing have been incredible,” Littler said. “I played her a few times when I was about 12, back in the BDO/WDF days with England.
“We’ve both come a long way. I’ve played alongside plenty of players for England, including Charlie Manby and Tavis Dudeney, who are now on the PDC tour.
“But Beau is special. I think she said she needs to win the Worlds or reach the final to get into the Premier League.
“It usually comes down to the top four and players who have performed well and won major titles. But if she makes the World Final this year, she deserves to be in next year.
“The young ones are here to play. We’re here to win titles, break records and showcase our game.”
Greaves is set to return to action in Players Championship events 13 and 14 in Hildesheim on Monday and Tuesday.
However, Littler will not be competing, having opted out of all Players Championship events so far in 2026.
He is not alone, with seven of the eight Premier League stars also absent from Hildesheim. Among the notable names missing are Luke Humphries, Stephen Bunting, Jonny Clayton, Gerwyn Price, Josh Rock, Gian van Veen, Nathan Aspinall and Ryan Searle.
